“We have a bug that occurs on the 31st of a month so once a month we get a bug report. It gets assigned to a developer within 24 hours who then fiddles for a bit before marking it ‘unable to reproduce‘.” ~ kosh

about 12 years agoHi Kosh. So, is this an 'information only' quote, or were you looking for input suggestions on how you might investigate/replicate this fault for the developer, so it can be resolved?

about 12 years agoGraham: As I mentioned when replying to Rishi comment, I shared this quote since it gives a wonderful example about the bugs that might result in a system if testing is not done on boundary values. 31st of a month is a boundary value and there is a possibility of bugs to be there.

about 12 years agoAnwar That's a strange bug, only on the 31st? What happens in Feb, Apr, June, Sep and Nov :) Furthermore, what is the point you're trying to get across?

about 12 years agoRishi: Yes there are some bugs that occur when certain conditions are met. This applies to the case of 31st of each month. The answer of your question is: I liked this quote and decided to share it here on my blog. Also, this quote gives a wonderful example about the bugs that might result in a system if testing is not done on boundary values.
